Camping

After the reception, we’ll be moving up the hill to the Gillesipe Group Camp Site. It hosts a lot of people, so we really hope most of you come relax and stay as late as you like. This will be kid friendly! Shed your fancy duds and dawn something warm and comfy.

We will have a "Baggage Drop" area set up as you leave the Laurel reception site. Drop off all your camping gear *pre-labeled with your name* and we'll make sure it's there waiting for you.

The site is an intimate redwood grove that rings a grassy area. It's got plenty of picnic tables, a covered shelter, real bathrooms, grills, and a great big fire pit. It’s roughing it, but not really.

We’ll feed you again, this time delicious tamales spread, and later we’ll roast s’mores around the campfire. So that we'll have enough food and drinks on hand, help us by letting us know on the return post card in your invitation if you will be staying late or camping and who will be joining you.

For entertainment we're excited to announce we've invited one of our favorite live bands to come play for us, The California Honeydrops! They're a great live dance band and we're honored they'll be joining the party around 8:30pm. And post show, we hope to get a nice fireside jam of our own going. Bring your instruments and join in!

• Even if you don’t plan on camping, we hope that you'll stay into the evening and continue the festivities

• If you’re jazzed about camping but don’t have equipment, we may have some loaner tents and bags, and you can rent gear at various locations in the East Bay, including REI in Berkeley

Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and lots of layers-- it can get cold in the summer in the East Bay!

• The next morning we’ll bring up breakfast: coffee, orange juice, bagels, and lox and more. If you head back home or to the hotel to sleep, we’d love to welcome you back up for breakfast!

We’re really excited to camp again -- we started the tradition last year with our joint birthday party, and it was great fun!
